The Alabama Child Caring Program is a health benefits program for children without private health insurance who are ineligible for public health care program coverage (i.e., Medicaid).
In order to maintain the Preferred Care fee schedule, Blue Cross asks Preferred Care physicians to help the Program by eliminating as many barriers as possible for these children. Waiving the $15 copayment of an office visit, rather than placing that burden on the child's parents, is most helpful and appreciated.
Children enrolled in this program carry identification cards similar to Preferred Care subscribers. Group numbers are 16901 - 16907 and the children are under the age of 19.
Billing procedures are the same as Preferred Care procedures.
For information on a donation or enrolling a child, call 1 800 726-2289 or 1 205 220-5929 or write to the address below.
