Are you in Violation of the PMD Agreement?

It is a violation of the Preferred Medical Doctor (PMD) agreement (Section 4.14), subject to immediate termination from the program, for a Preferred physician to allow non-Preferred physicians or other allied health professionals to bill for services using his/her provider number. Whether the physician is on his or her own, is a partner, or an employed associate, he or she is ultimately responsible for the appropriate use of his or her provider number. Inappropriate use of a physician’s provider number should be reported to the Network Integrity Unit at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama at 1 800 824-4391.
