Radiology Facility and Technology Assessment Program

Technology assessment represents an important factor in both the quality management program and utilization processes. The most basic aspect of the technology assessment concerns the setting of equipment standards and technical proficiency for technology-sensitive examinations.

CareCore National (CCN) continues to perform a network-wide assessment comparing the results with standards it has developed in conjunction with Blue Cross for all Preferred Radiology (PRP) locations. To collect applicable facility and technology information, all new PRP providers will be required to complete a Professional Physician/Practice Assessment (PPPA) to be returned to CareCore National. A CCN representative will schedule an onsite visit with your practice to review your facility, personnel and equipment.

If your imaging facility is interested in being considered for PRP status, you must complete all of the following documents:

Hospital Professional Physician/Practice Assessment

The assessment should be completed and submitted directly to CCN to the address on the cover sheet. CCN will review the information and notify Blue Cross of its findings.
