Weight Loss: Recipe: Creamsicle Smoothie
Source: Greatist

Adding fresh oranges to smoothies is a great way to mix up any breakfast routine. It’s also a nice change from adding juice, which is (gasp!) often full of hidden sugars.

This recipe features blood oranges, the less acidic, tangier sister of the common orange. With a touch of almond milk, the smoothie becomes a frosty blend reminiscent of the Creamsicle of summers past—but don’t worry, this one’s super healthy.

Perfect for a midday meal, post-workout snack, or healthy dessert, this smoothie is truly great for any occasion. Orange you glad you found it?

Serves 2

What You'll Need

  • 1 blood orange
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 2 handfuls of spinach (optional)
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 cup ice

What to Do:

  1. Add all ingredients in the blender
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Add ice and blend
  4. Garnish with a blood orange slice

Stock up on oranges and try these summer smoothies too: Turmeric Orange Delight and the Orange Cherry Blossom.
