Why Getting the Flu Vaccine is Important

Getting the flu vaccine is a smart way for older adults to stay healthy and avoid serious illness. If you do catch the flu, the vaccine can make your symptoms milder and reduce your chances of needing hospital care.

The vaccine helps your body fight off the flu, protect people around you like babies, other older adults and those with chronic health problems from getting sick.
